I received some black and white 120 film photos back today from the lab and fell in love with them…like holding velvet in your hands…while this post is not in film, I created a custom black and white to look as close to the film stock I used as possible and thought it would be neat to create an all black and white post.

Edith and Clelio’s wedding was rich with their portuguese cultural tradition and family history. It was so inspiring. I couldn’t resist many of the shots that incorporated the things that were so special to them and their families. One of my favorite shots from the wedding was when the grand entrance for the bride and groom was delayed due to mass taking place in another part of the church. As we were waiting I got a neat shot of 3 generations standing together against a wall of soccer trophies. Soccer was even playing the background on the TVs as we waited. How fitting…it was through soccer that they met…enjoy their wedding preview…

wedding style shootVery pleased to announce that a styled shoot that we did earlier this year with some of Ottawa’s very talented wedding vendors will be published on the Wedluxe Blog for some Ottawa talent. It features a neutral colour palette of ivory and gold accented by blush tones and classic silver accents. We shot the session at Strathmere Inn, an often understated elegant and rustic wedding venue, was transformed into a glamourous setting with the traditional and classic backdrop of the Manor house. The shoot featured a number of stunning wedding gowns from Luxe Bridal Boutique, The White Dress and With Love Bridal Boutique including designers such as Robert Bullock, Amy Kuschell, Vera Wang, Romona Keveza, Jim Hjelm and many more…

Floral design was created by Erin Carmichael of Full Bloom Floral Design with hair by Lori Dyck of Show Pony and make-up by Sarah Walsh. The cake design by the very talented Sophie Bifield Cake Company.
