I had the wonderful oppourtunity to work with Peter and Stephanie and their wonderful wedding planner Lynn Lee of Weddings Unveiled for their elegant Ottawa Wedding at the Britannia Yacht Club. There were so many more images I could share for this post, but tried to pare it down. The day started with Pete’s mom making a breakfast of Champions for the groom and his boys at her house, while the bride and her bridesmaids were getting hair and make-up done at their hotel suite with one of my favorite sylists, Lori Dyck from ShowPony Style on Site. With Chanel dressing her fingers and toes Stephanie was beautiful in her Robert Bullock Wedding dress from Luxe Bridal, the couple came together on the Terrace of the Chateau Laurier for a first look.
From the Chateau Laurier we made our way to the Britannia Yacht Club for their beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony that was dressed in beautiful floral designs by Talisman Florists. The outdoor ceremony was performed by one of my favorite Ottawa Officiants, Lynn Langille, who always creates a truly personal ceremony for my couples and their guests.
The ceremony was followed by an intimate wedding reception at the club where their closest family and friends came together to celebrate this exceptional couple. It was a fabulous day, right down to the speeches. And much fun was had at the photo booth…but that’s for another post…enjoy!

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Laura Jayne Couture Accessories based out of Toronto, Ontario to showcase their Spring 2012 collection of veils, jewelry and bridal accessories. The collection was recently featured on Green Wedding Shoes Blog out of Southern California. Take a peek at some of the photos from our commercial shoot.

It was love at first sight for Paul and Diane who met while working at the Governor General’s two years ago and they have been madly in love ever since. They will be married in a sweet church in New Edinburgh with a wedding reception to follow at The Marshes this Fall.
We braved the Ottawa winter to create a special cosy winter engagement session. There’s lots of cuddling to keep warm
We braved -20 temperature… but love the results of the warm sun against the cold snow…enjoy!

Stonefields Heritage Farm creates a beautiful rustic and elegant backdrop for your wedding ceremony so it was no surprise that Patricia and Geoff chose Stonefields for their wedding ceremony venue and for their cocktail reception by the pool to follow. It was a touching ceremony with Lynn Langille of Exceptional Ceremoniesand as always the hosts at Stonefields were amazing to work with.
Their ceremony and cocktail were followed by a reception in nearby Almonte at the Heirloom Cafe Bistro. Another fabulous wedding venue for an intimate and unique wedding reception.
Please enjoy some of the images from their wedding album – a compilation of their favorites as they tell the story of their day:
What a fabulous wedding day for Alison and Dennis! It was such an honour to be a part of your wedding day and ring in the New Year at the chic modern Juniper Kitchen and Wine bar. What an amazing wedding venue for a stylish wedding reception. The couple hosted everyone for a cocktail rather than sit down reception where the stunning food creations by the Juniper staff just kept revealing themselves. Here’s is a sneak peek of one among many favorite images from the evening – I just love the colours. Happy New Year everyone!

When Kim approached me to do a romantic fair engagement session I was intrigued. The thing is I’ve never been to the Carp Fair and this would be my first visit. As a photographer, I knew it would be visually fun to shoot and I was not disappointed. With her stunning red shoes, pencil skirt and fiery red lipstick and he with his dapper outfit, they looked as if they had walked into another era completely. It was magical as the sun fell behind the ferris wheel and the true colours of the fair came alive in the night lights. The fair was romantic and glamourous with the faint sweet smell of cotton candy and popcorn and I couldn’t wait to take full advantage of all the colour and atmosphere. I love creating night images – the colours are so amazing and playing with dramatic lighting is so creative.
I just love these images…thank you Kim and Adam for a beautiful, fun and wonderful first visit to the Fair! I am looking forward to your stylish wedding in 2012 at the Brookstreet Hotel!
And I absolutely must show you the save-the-date cards that we created using their engagement photos…

I received some black and white 120 film photos back today from the lab and fell in love with them…like holding velvet in your hands…while this post is not in film, I created a custom black and white to look as close to the film stock I used as possible and thought it would be neat to create an all black and white post.
Edith and Clelio’s wedding was rich with their portuguese cultural tradition and family history. It was so inspiring. I couldn’t resist many of the shots that incorporated the things that were so special to them and their families. One of my favorite shots from the wedding was when the grand entrance for the bride and groom was delayed due to mass taking place in another part of the church. As we were waiting I got a neat shot of 3 generations standing together against a wall of soccer trophies. Soccer was even playing the background on the TVs as we waited. How fitting…it was through soccer that they met…enjoy their wedding preview…

Jennifer and Jason met early in their university careers …she knew him for quite some time as “Mr. Creepy Stares”(someone was obviously smitten!). Through persistance Jason finally won Jennifer over and so began their long journey through med school, internships, residencies and all the time apart as each of them became doctors in their respective specializations. When we met, Jason was working in Texas and Jennifer was in Winnipeg. Ottawa was very special to both of them and where their lives together began so they chose Ottawa for their destination wedding and so lucky for me, they chose me as their wedding photographer.
With Jennifer and Jason’s discerning taste they chose Eighteen 18 restaurant in the Byward Market as their venue. They wanted their guests to be treated to a private and intimate evening with atmosphere that was elegant, glamourous and eclectic – and it was outstanding. The floral designs were created by Millstreet florists and the staff at eighteen pulled out all the stops. They even created custom mini beavertail doughnuts for the occasion – by special request from the bride. Anyone who has ever dined at eighteen knows that the entire menu is a foodie dream and I do believe that there was little on the menu that wasn’t served up beautiful this night for their private reception.
Jennifer was beautiful in her Elizabeth Filmore crepe silk sheath gown (style – Simone) with a classic black organza sash and fun ruffled shoes by Steve Madden.
We started the day at the Chateau Laurier and this is how their wedding story unfolds in pictures…

Kate and Ian are a fun and easy-going couple, so there was no better place for us to shoot their engagement than among the trees by the lake in a warm coloured field. It was a rainy clouded over day, but we still found some beautiful light to shoot our engagement session in some unlikely places. And to add to our unexpected surprise, just before the rain came pouring through the clouds there was a moment of pure and beautiful light of the sunset coming down above the trees and reflecting onto the lake…a wee gift and I would like to think a sign of an amazing wedding day ahead.
Ian and Kate’s wedding will take place at the Westin Hotel Ottawa with wedding planner Liz from Bridal Solutions in what should be a stunning day with the very talented Erin Carmichael of Full Bloom floral design . I can’t wait to see you in your stunning Romona Kiveza wedding dress…and Ian, I hope you can’t wait to share some Maple Bacon Doughnuts to kick off the big day!
