This stunning ornate belt from Vera Wang was worn by Rebecca, one of our brides from Kingston. She paired the belt with her wedding dress from Pronovias to create a flawless and elegant look for her wedding day. The belt was beaded in mercury coloured beads across the front with an eclectic mix of beads, crystal, silver and sequins to create a beautiful detail to accent the wedding dress.

Portfolio Series #7 – When the Wind BlowsJuly 23, 2012
Sussex avenue is a wind tunnel; one of the coldest streets to walk up in the winter. And when the wind blows in the summer it really blows. At times when wind meets a cathedral veil, the results can be both cinematic and elegant. However, when that same wind throws the whole bunch of that veil into a whirlwind, the result is a great bit of laughter on the wedding day. While trying for a much more subtle and dramatic image, the wind took Erin’s veil up and around her lovely face, and I couldn’t help but capturing her amazing laughter. Having an amazing wedding day often means embracing every moment.
In each wedding there are moments that tell a story, that are meaningful or just amazing for the simplicity of the moment that is captured. They are important moments; but may never find themselves included in a wedding magazine or blog, but to me it would be a shame if they were not shown. This is at the heart of my Wedding Portfolio Series. Through this series I will showcase some favorite moments captured on the wedding day.
Portfolio Series #5 – Mom’s SpeechJuly 21, 2012
One of my favorite times at a wedding are when the speeches start. You learn so much about the couple, their
relationships and who they are to the people they cherish. Here, the bride is obviously touched by mom’s speech and I must admit there were few dry eyes including my own that evening. I love how the groom holds the bride here in a genuine moment of tenderness.

Stef and Jon met each other across the mall food court…he was the fry guy and she was the cute booster juice girl. Their first date was to a movie, and while JOn is not known for remembering all the details in general…he remembered everything about that day. Both experienced love at first site and they were married this past weekend at the Side Door restaurant for a spirited cocktail reception preceeded by a beautiful ceremony at the Knox Presbyterian Church. They were married surrounded by their awesome friends and amazing families (and sister Tracy on ipad) – it was an amazing day and I look forward to sharing some sneak peeks soon! In the meantime, you can view some highlights from their engagement session.

Creative, Fun Engagement SessionNovember 29, 2011
When Kim approached me to do a romantic fair engagement session I was intrigued. The thing is I’ve never been to the Carp Fair and this would be my first visit. As a photographer, I knew it would be visually fun to shoot and I was not disappointed. With her stunning red shoes, pencil skirt and fiery red lipstick and he with his dapper outfit, they looked as if they had walked into another era completely. It was magical as the sun fell behind the ferris wheel and the true colours of the fair came alive in the night lights. The fair was romantic and glamourous with the faint sweet smell of cotton candy and popcorn and I couldn’t wait to take full advantage of all the colour and atmosphere. I love creating night images – the colours are so amazing and playing with dramatic lighting is so creative.
I just love these images…thank you Kim and Adam for a beautiful, fun and wonderful first visit to the Fair! I am looking forward to your stylish wedding in 2012 at the Brookstreet Hotel!
And I absolutely must show you the save-the-date cards that we created using their engagement photos…
