There are fewer things more romantic than an engagement session and the warmth of a chilly fall day with the smell of the fresh cool air. Each engagement session is different, and I knew that this day was going to provide na extraordinary backdrop for our romantic engagement session.
Kaitlin and Corey are to be married in 2012 at Stonefields Heritage Farm, a beautiful and elegant wedding venue so fitting this relaxed and down to earth couple. Kaitlin and Corey wanted to incorporate their new puppy into their engagement shoot, so what better place to go but out to a lake. It was a beautiful afternoon and it was great to get to know this awesome couple and their pooch… (wait til you see this bear of a dog!).
Here’s a sneak peak from their beautiful, romantic and relaxed engagement session.
Thank you Kaitlin and Corey so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer for 2012…I will look forward to seeing some familiar faces at the wedding!

Jennifer and Jason met early in their university careers …she knew him for quite some time as “Mr. Creepy Stares”(someone was obviously smitten!). Through persistance Jason finally won Jennifer over and so began their long journey through med school, internships, residencies and all the time apart as each of them became doctors in their respective specializations. When we met, Jason was working in Texas and Jennifer was in Winnipeg. Ottawa was very special to both of them and where their lives together began so they chose Ottawa for their destination wedding and so lucky for me, they chose me as their wedding photographer.
With Jennifer and Jason’s discerning taste they chose Eighteen 18 restaurant in the Byward Market as their venue. They wanted their guests to be treated to a private and intimate evening with atmosphere that was elegant, glamourous and eclectic – and it was outstanding. The floral designs were created by Millstreet florists and the staff at eighteen pulled out all the stops. They even created custom mini beavertail doughnuts for the occasion – by special request from the bride. Anyone who has ever dined at eighteen knows that the entire menu is a foodie dream and I do believe that there was little on the menu that wasn’t served up beautiful this night for their private reception.
Jennifer was beautiful in her Elizabeth Filmore crepe silk sheath gown (style – Simone) with a classic black organza sash and fun ruffled shoes by Steve Madden.
We started the day at the Chateau Laurier and this is how their wedding story unfolds in pictures…
