While photography consumes most of my days, I also am an adventurer and thrill seeker – I love windsurfing, biking and coffee (yes I lump that in with activities)…I am a design junkie and have an unhealthy relationship with Pinterest, Houzz and the Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Crate and Barrel .
I am a self-professed wedding style nerd – I love wedding dresses and my favorite designers are Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang and Jim Hjelm – but there are so many…I have every issue of Wedluxe (Canada’s luxury Wedding Magazine) and Elegant Weddings (out of Montreal). I think they are simply the most beautiful and inspiring wedding magazines and they are Canadian!
When my couples choose me to be their wedding photographer, it is the greatest honor – like being asked to be an extension of the wedding party. My philosophy is to put the experience of your day at the forefront. The genuine enjoyment of your day, not contrived poses is what I want to capture as the images you will treasure and hold in your hands forever.
My style is a perfect blend of documentary-style photojournalism complimented by artistic imagery that is romantic, eclectic, elegant and fun. My influences come from my fine art background and my love of fashion, travel, Vogue, Vanity Fair, W Magazine, and some of my favorite luxury wedding magazines. My greatest inspiration comes directly from you -who you are as a couple when nobody is looking. The love you can’t see except when someone’s keen eye and camera catch you in a beautiful moment – this is what I strive to capture- your genuine laughter, tears, and hugs and excitement. I LOVE fine art film photography – nothing comes close to the pure beauty and richness of film -like fine wine is to fine food – so is film to fine art photography – swoon. I love using film for my commissions whenever I can.
I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer in Manor Park in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. While I love being close to home with my awesome family, my wanderlust has taken me to many worldwide travels and destination weddings. I have captured weddings from as far away as the Czech Republic, France, Italy and the Caribbean, and as near as New York City, Toronto, Kingston and Montreal.
