Last year I had the priviledge to work with an amazing couple to shoot their New York City wedding at the Gramercy Park Hotel with the amazing Allison Turner of Live Love Plan. While I was there, I had the oppourtunity to visit the Alexander McQueen exhibit “Savage Beauty”. Three hours of jaw dropping amazing gorgeous genious…Needless to say I bought the catalogue and the calender and almost bought the scarf…but it was a little out of reach!
So imagine my delight when Deborah, who was the maid of honor at the New York wedding called me … “I’m engaged!!!!”
We met and she described how she wanted to have an alexander McQueen themed wedding …”Do you know who
I mean?” Oh yes I did…and, pointing to the catalogue on my shelf…“You mean THIS Alexander McQueen?”. Needless to say, I am thrilled to be working with her and fiance Dan and Allison Turner of Live Love Plan to bring her amazing wedding vision to life.
Deborah and Dan wanted to do something edgy and unique for their engagement session and bring the wedding theme into their session as well. So I took to the Pinterest Board and together we created this unique portrait session. Special thanks to Summer Mbonu and Anne-Marie Rooney for Make-up and Hair styling.
It poured so severely the day of our shoot, I was certain we would cancel, but Deb and Dan were not to be deterred. We geared up with our deet and went into the woods…where for what seemed our shoot only, the sky remained clear. After 3 hours of shooting we all enjoyed “moules et frites” at the beloeved Chelsea pub.
Thank you Deb and Dan for being so amazing!
Looking forward to your wedding this October at 18 Restaurant in the Byward Market.
